DISCOVERY TORREMOLINOS Amazing

Torremolinos

Welcome to Torremolinos, one of the most popular and long-standing tourist destinations on the national scene. A town that has improved year after year to offer its visitors an increasingly wide and complete range of services and leisure attractions. In the heart of the Costa del Sol, its climate, its beaches, the possibilities it offers for outdoor sports activities, with golf as its main exponent, and its gastronomic and nightlife offering stand out above all.

Beaches

The main tourist attraction of Torremolinos is its beaches. The municipality has almost 7 kilometres of coastline, with its main beaches being Los Álamos, Playamar, El Bajondillo and La Carihuela.

All the beaches in Torremolinos are urban beaches accessible from the Paseo Maritimo. They are generally dark sand and have moderate waves and are very busy during the summer months. The most popular are El Bajondillo and La Carihuela beaches, located in the town centre. The first is more than a kilometre long and 40 metres wide. La Carihuela is approximately the same width and is about 2 kilometres long. This beach is located in the old fishing district of the same name, where fried fish restaurants abound.

The beaches of Torremolinos offer many services to tourists: promenade, umbrellas, hammocks, bars, restaurants, newsstands, etc.

Gastronomy

The province of Malaga is probably the best place to eat the famous fried fish. Torremolinos has countless restaurants and beach bars along its entire coast where you can enjoy fried fish and seafood, as well as the acclaimed sardine skewers. The wood fires on the jábegas (traditional fishing boats) are visible and smelt from almost any point on the seafront, inviting you to taste all the products cooked in this way that gives the food that special flavour. A must-see is also the area of Carihuela, a cozy fishing village where it is especially pleasant to stroll through the streets before deciding on any of the countless restaurants, perfect for having a good rice or some portions of squid and anchovies.

Nightlife

One of the most popular nightlife areas in Torremolinos is located on the beach of Los Álamos (just 5 minutes by car from the hotel), where a succession of beach bars, in the purest Ibizan Beach Club style, offer their clients good music, cocktails and the best atmosphere, during the day but also at night. Balinese beds, hammocks, avant-garde food and an atmosphere full of glamour make these places a perfect place to spend the day or go out for drinks.

Outdoor Activities

If you like a healthy lifestyle, the Costa del Sol and the surrounding areas are a great option. From playing golf on the many courses and circuits in the province (however, the Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf due to the high concentration of spaces for playing golf), to adventure activities such as canyoning, mountain biking, diving, kite surfing, hiking, etc. On the beaches you will also find many options for a nice ride on a jet ski or having a fun time letting yourself be carried along at full speed on a sausage, or enjoying a relaxing ride on a pedal boat.

The little ones and the whole family will find all the fun they are looking for in the many theme parks in the area, which include: Aquapark, Cocodrilos Park, Selwo Marina, Tivoli amusement park, etc. It is worth going up to the heights and experiencing a bit of vertigo from the Benlamádena Cable Car.

Excursions

From Torremolinos you are just under an hour away from places of extraordinary beauty and cultural interest. There are numerous excursions that you can do in a day and that are worthwhile. Thus, the Axarquía area and its route of the White Villages are an extraordinary option. No one should miss visiting the Virgin Beaches of Maro with its crystal-clear waters, perhaps taking advantage of the journey to visit the renowned Caves of Nerja and charming towns such as Frigiliana. Ronda is another classic among tourists and highly recommended. Even closer is the town of Benalmádena Pueblo, a good place to have a beer or a soft drink in the middle of the afternoon enjoying the magnificent views of the coast that it offers. And with a little more time, you can go to Granada (approximately 120 km) where the Alhambra awaits you with open arms. Ask the hotel staff if you want to know a little more or have any questions. We will be happy to assist you.
